Born and raised in Hong Kong, Shirley started studying watercolor painting when she was a teenager. She enjoys all kinds of painting subjects, particularly those that can bring out the challenge and excitement of using watercolor.
Shirley received a Diploma in Design from Hong Kong Polytechnics in 1984. She came to the United States to continue her study in graphic design and received a Bachelor of Art Degree from the California College of Arts & Crafts. She has worked for design companies in New York, Toronto, and San Francisco. In 1997, Shirley began participating in juried art shows while living in Ontario, Canada. She has exhibited her artworks at Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant in Brantford and the Latchem Gallery in Stouffville.
