2016 Saving Endangered Species Youth Art Contest Results
This contest is an important part of Endangered Species Day on May 20. The Endangered Species Coalition received 1,500 entries from young people throughout the country, and the International Child Art Foundation judges were very impressed with the quality of their art.
Twenty nine of Teacher Shirley's waterclor students submitted entries. Five of these students, Rachel Yang, Cindy Xiong, Lily Wang, Jessica Liu, and Katrina Sharonin, were among the 40 semi-finalists who were selected by the judges. You can view the semi-finalists artwork at the links below.
We are pleased to announce that Katrina Sharonin is the winner in the 6-8 grade category and Rachel Yang is the winner in the K-2 grade category. The judges were very impressed with their illustrations. This is a significant achievement, considering the number and quality of the artwork submitted.
Congratulations to all of our students who particpated. We'd also like to give a special thank you to Teacher Shirley for her dedication and support. We are proud of all of you!
