Clay Classes

Ceramics

Ages 6 - Adult

Students are taught hand-building (non-wheel) techniques, such as coiling, pinch pot, slab construction, and more using traditional low-fire ceramic clay. We use low-fire traditional clay for most projects, and low-fire glossy glazes or low-fire underglazes to paint finished works. We also have two pottery wheels which students can use upon request.

Sculpting

Ages 6 - Adult

Classes are taught by a practicing professional artist. Students will learn the fundamentals of sculpting and working with different materials, such as wire, wood, paper, tape, stone, fabric, recycled objects, and polymer clay. They will also learn to successfully translate 2D ideas in 3D space. Students will explore different themes including animals, human anatomy, plants, fictional characters, symmetric and asymmetric abstract patterns and shapes.
