Ceramics Summer Camp 2011

Schedule: Ceramics camp from 6/13  through 8/19, M - F 12:30pm - 3:30pm (bi-weekly enrollment preferred, but weekly enrollment is acceptable if students have tight schedule. However, students might not have enough time to glaze (color) works in one week. Students can color their works by acrylics paints at home, or they can take drop-in camp on daily basis to glaze their works in open ceramics camp ($50 drop-in per half-day). There's option for weekly enrollment for session 2 (6/27 - 7/1, 7/5 - 7/8) and session 5 (8/8 - 8/12, 8/15 - 8/19), but bi-weekly enrollment achieves the best learning result.

Age groupfor age 6 through 15. Age groups might be separated by work stations and lesson plans.

Projects and media:Instructors teach based on each student's level each week. We use traditional earthy clay that fires in the kiln. Students will be learning various hand-built skills to build up ceramic works from scratch on a variety of interesting subjects! We also have many fun ceramics modes for students to make houses, dolls, animals and ornaments as an option. We use a wide selection of high-quality glazes for coloring. Polymer clay might be included pending on actual progress.
