6/10-6/14 Fun With Paper Folding and cutting paper are techniques used in many cultures. From Latin-American papel picado to Chinese paper cutting, from origami and kirigami to silhouette portraits done at county fairs, cutting paper has fascinated generations of folk artists. Each day a new technique will be introduced. Computers may be used for designs. |

6/24-6/28 Make an Avatar If
you could create a hybrid animal to help you in your daily quest,
what would it be? Would it have the strength of a lion and the
stealth of a fox? Would you fly like a bird and swim like a fish?
This week, we explore the possibilities and create a personal
avatar.

7/8-7/12 Stained-glass
Plate (Only 4 Spots Left) Without the mess of broken glass nor the smell of leaded solder, we will make stained-glass plates using designs from many cultures or spontaneous free-form ideas. Students will decide a design, lay out the "leaning" or outline. Then a water-soluble polymer substance is spread on glass and dries transparent to simulate stained-glass. This will be a treasure for generations to come.
